Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Support
EFT can be used to help with craving and withdrawl symptoms to compliment existing counselling and if finding it difficult to stick with health regime. It involves minimal speak and works to calm distress quickly.
This is not talk therapy and is trauma-informed, meaning you will feel safe and supported. Focus is on bodily sensations your experiencing in the moment or when thinking about something in particuar.
If you require truma-focused services (for unaddressed trauma) a, DATS can connect you with a relevent professional, and you are more than welcome to use our service inbetween sessions to manage stress as it is occuring.
The Quitline provide free phone counseeling, and EFT inbetween these sessions provide an addional layer of support.
After you learn how EFT works with 1:1 sessions, this is a great tool to self-administer as needed. Sometimes 1:1 helps keep you focused, so don't discard the technique if you find it difficult to stay focused.
